We recognize staff and student accomplishments at our monthly All School-Meeting. Students have advanced to high levels in National Geography Bee, Mock Trial, and have been past winners of the NJ Odyssey of the Mind Competition. We also have an award winning Jazz Band and Chorus, who have placed in local and regional competitions.

Our vision for Alexandria Township Middle School is one where all stakeholders collaborate to create an environment of successful learning and leadership. We believe that all students educational and developmental needs shall be achieved through an optimal learning environment where students feel respected and safe. AMS provides dynamic programs for our students in a technology-rich environment.
Students and teachers utilize iPads as one of their learning tools. We offer Select Enrichment, Academic Assistance, Algebra 1, STEM and Coding.

Many extra-curricular and co-curricular offerings such as Mock Trial, Club Invention, Chess, Art Club, Makerspace, Science and Math Olympiad, Yearbook, Ski Club, Music and Band Competitions, Theater, Dance, Art, Chorus, Jazz Band, Newspaper, Student Council, Peer Leaders, Field Hockey.
AMS offers In-District Professional Development activities for all staff: Current professional development is focusing on Growth Mindset, Rutgers University Reading/Writing Advisors, STEM, and Google Classroom. AMS teachers work on grade level teams where they have the opportunity to collaborate every day.
A variety of supports and services are offered for our students. We have a full-time Counselor and a full-time Social Worker. Programs provided for students with special needs include In-Class Support, Out-of-Class Instruction, Supplemental Tutoring, Homework Assistance.
Students at AMS participate in classes and activities that promote movement. In addition to movement breaks in the classroom, students have physical education classes and recess every day in grades 4 through 8. All students also participate in dance and theater class throughout the day.
With the support of the PTO, ATEF, and PPO we are able to provide our students with innovative programs. AMS is very community oriented and have much involvement from parents. Throughout the year, we host Family Nights which have included STEM Night, Solar Eclipse Day, Summer Library Club and Game Nights.
