Klockner Elementary School is a public school located in Hamilton, New Jersey with 264 students in grades Pre-K-5.
Highlights
Curriculum includes Readers and Writer's Workshop, Guided Math Workshop, and Next Generation Science Standards
Students offered instrumental lessons beginning in the third grade. Chorus for grades 2 through 5. Play production for students in grades 4 and 5. Annual Talent Show.
PBIS-Klockner Kares - Students and Teachers model KARES during their daily interactions. Caring, Attitude, Respect, Effort and Safety. Our mascotts Sharing and Karing represent our school.
Awards

Klockner Elementary School has been awarded a New Jersey Agricultural Society Learning Through Gardening grant. Students at Klockner Elementary will experience what it's like to grow their own food starting in September! Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Anti-Bullying Calendar Contest Winner, ETE Winners, Presidential Academic Excellence and Achievement Award Winners. Monthly attendance assemblies, Student of the Month, Most Improved Students.

Mission

Klockner School is committed to providing a comprehensive educational program for children in grades Pre-K through fifth. The school strives to develop each student's unique intellectual potential in a culturally diverse environment. Vision: Provide all students of Klockner School with an exceptional education that will inspire and motivate them to succeed as independent citizens and life-long learners.

Academics

ELL Instruction, Basic Skills/LLI Instruction, ALPS in grades 3-5, Resource Room for Special Education Students

Clubs

Instrumental and band lessons for grades 3-5. Safety Patrol, PALS Program, Klockner Character Council and Character Committee.

Programs

The Mercer County CYO operates the Before and After School Program at Klockner School. Grades K-5 served. If interested please contact the CYO at 585-4280 ext. 102.

Teachers

Classroom teachers are provided with embedded professional development (Instructional Coaching) , courses and workshops, education conferences, peer observations, and technology-based networking with other teachers to improve instructional practice and student learning. Focus on vobulary development, writing across the curriculum and addressing the social and emotional needs of all students.

Supports

Resource Room, ESL Program; OT and PT Services as needed. Basic Skills and Title 1 Services for students that are struggling academically.

Health

Breakfast and lunch program. 30 minutes of recess daily. Guidance lessons K-5. Physical Education K-5.

Parents

The PTA is very active in fundraising and supporting the school wherever possible. They offer special events like Movie Nights, Trunk or Treat and the Scholastic Book Fair.

Facilities

The building is over 100 years old. It was built in 1908 and offers many wonderful architectural features. The building has two distinct sides that are only accessible through parts of the building. The building is designated as "Amazing" in describing its structure.

School safety

New doors and windows have been installed throughout the building. All doors are closed and locked throughout the school day and all visitors must enter through door 1 and check into the office.

Technology

Family STEM night. Almost at one to one for technolgy initiative.

Early childhood

We have two sessions (a.m. and p.m.) of our Title I Pre-K program.

More

Klockner School promotes a high character atmosphere through our whole group and individual positive rewards programs. Teachers use resources and data to drive indivualized instruction geared towards benefiting each student's specific needs. Our teachers participate in PLC's on a monthly basis in order to further advanced their ability by researching and learning about different topics of their choice and also unpacking standards to better understand what we're teaching. Smartboards are used to benefit visual learners in every classroom throughout the school. As a school we try to celebrate the successes of our students as much as we possibly can.
