Vision: Passaic Public Schools will become one of the best school systems in New Jersey. Mission: Passaic Public Schools will provide an excellent education that prepares our students for college and to earn high paying jobs. Focus: Passaic Public Schools will provide all students the opportunity to graduate high school with a career certification and/or a minimum of 15 college credits.
School No. 3 provides each of our students with an academically rigorous and supportive learning environment. Students learn to read and write through Readers' and Writers' Workshop programs. During the Math block, students learn essential math concepts through center-based and math workshop activities. Students learn science through laboratory activities aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards.
Students at School No. 3 have opportunities to learn beyond the regular school day. Learning begins with Early Drop-Off Tutoring, and continues with After-School programs, Saturday Enrichment, and Summer Academic Support and Enrichment opportunities.
Passaic Public Schools places a strong emphasis on adult learning programs. Staff participate in three scheduled professional development days during the school year, and participate in a wide variety of professional learning experiences offered after school and during the summer. During the school day, teachers regularly collaborate and learn as a community during grade level meetings, professional learning communities, and staff meetings.
Passaic Public Schools provides a wide variety of services and supports to our students. Students identified as English Language Learners receive a variety of instructional learning supports. Students with disabilities have access to many learning support programs and personnel. Students identified as in need of additional academic support receive intervention services and have access to help before and after school.
At School No. 3 we value parent involvement. We offer monthly parent workshops covering subjects such as homework help and grade level expectations. Parents can contact our Parent Liaison with questions about our school and parent programming.
