Our Child Study Team consists of a Director of Program, a School Psychologist, Learning Consultant, and Social Worker, and ensures that students receive the appropriate services such as: math and language arts intervention services, speech, counseling, in-class support, or out of class replacement.
Students in grades Five through Eight receive health instruction weekly, and visiting programs and assemblies provide more succinct information such as vaping & drug abuse and fire safety. All students grades 5 through 8 have recess daily for 30 minutes and physical education is provided to all students.
Our PTA is one of the best in the area! The PTA provides âÂÂminigrantsâ to teachers that allow for enriching programs and assemblies to be brought directly to students. Parents volunteer in the classrooms seasonally. Monthly, the school promotes a âÂÂFamily Fun Nightâ where there is no homework so that students may spend additional time with their families dining out or participating in a PTA / school sponsored activity.
The School Safety Team meets several times a year to evaluate school climate and potential HIB occurrences. A School Resource Officer meets regularly with the Principal, and safety of the entire school community is evaluated daily.
Our school incorporated a Genius Opportunity (Go Time!) which is similar to the Genius Hour concept. Students also have daily access to the Innovation Lab, as well as weekly technology education class. All students grades 5 - 8 have daily access to Chromebooks and iPads.
