We provide before and after school enrichment and support. We also, offer after school visual and performing arts programs. We integrate principles of leadership and effectiveness into a schoolâÂÂs curriculum, empower faculty and staff members, and prepare students for success in academics and in life

Students participate in the National Junior Honor Society, Peer Leaders, Superintendent Scholars, Principal's Scholars, Teachers Scholars, and Student of the Month. We participate in community service projects such as donations for the needy during Thanksgiving, and a coat drive for students in need that is sponsored by the EPD. We offer special events like Career Day and college visits to help motivate them in deciding their future path.
Students participate in before and after school enrichment. We offer a STEAM Saturday program for students in grades 3-8.
Teachers gain and improve knowledge and skills that are important to their positions and job performance by participating in PLC's, SCIP, Grade level meetings, faculty meetings, SCLC , GCN trainings, Title 1 and District trainings.
At school 30, we believe that student visitation to colleges such as Princeton University, Kean University and Montclair University will help them gain a realistic perspective of the work that it takes to go to college, and start to critically think about what the best fit for them will be.
"The Guidance Counselor and Social Worker provide academic plans and support for students who are struggling by focusing on our Seven Habits Leadership theme. Students are referred to I&RS for planning strategies to ensure academic success. Our school Social Worker help in preventing and responding to harassment, intimidation and bullying. This helps the students solve and cope with problems in their every day lives. "
Students are provided free and reduced lunches, in addition, to the free breakfast program and snacks for the After School Program. Students have physical education and Health during school hours. Structured physical ativities are supervised during recess. We have an annual Field Day and also have a school wide Fun Day.
PTO meetings are held four times a year. Parents are encouraged to attend the winter and spring concert, American Education Week, Autism Awarness Month, Leadership Day, Americana Day, Science Fair, Fall Festival, Family fun Night and the Multicultural Show. We follow the Seven Habits of a Successful Family, by Steven Covey. We communicate with families and encourage parents to attend all school events.
School 30 opened in 2006. Our school has central air conditioning. We have two playgrounds, internal and external. Every student in grades two through eighth grade are issued a laptop for use throughout the day. Teachers classrooms are equiped with 78 inch ViewSonic boards. Students are offered an array of specials like band, choir, theater and dance.
At school 30 we believe that students emotional and physical safety in school is directly related to academic performance. Our school has four security personnel and teachers at each entrance every morning to greet students and check student bags.
We believe that it is important for students to think of themselves as critical thinkers and problem solvers. We offer a Saturday STEAM program for students in grades 3-8.
School 30 offers free high quality, full day and age appopriate Preschool and Kindergarten classes for students ages 3-6. The Pre-K program runs from 8:15 to 3:05. We also offer a Catapult before and after school program.
The day begins at 8:15 am and ends at 3:05 pm. Our building houses students from Pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Computer Literacy is offered to students in grades second through five. We have a School Safety team that consists of teachers, staff, parents and students. We communicate with our community through flyers and an automated system. School 30, is a lottery school. We have a uniform and cell phone policy that both students and parents sign.
